World Productivity Congress set for date in the kingdom

Bahrain will host the 18th edition of the World Productivity Congress under the theme ‘New Roads to Innovation and Higher Productivity’.

The congress is being organised by JAFCON Consultants for Productivity Improvement in strategic partnership with Tamkeen and UNIDO.

The Bahrain Society for Training and Development is a co-organiser of the event to be held at the Gulf Convention Centre - Gulf Hotel, between April 2 and 4 and will be is the first ever staged in the MENA region.

More than 600 leading businessmen, industrialists, scholars, decision-makers, administrators and productivity experts from 72 countries from all sectors of industry, commerce and public service will discuss successful experiences on the use of resources and productivity improvement over the two days.

It is this breadth of expertise and experience that makes it an important event for shaping future governmental approaches to productivity development, and for shaping future organisational strategies.

Discussions will focus on three main areas - financial stability and economic growth through higher productivity, social enhancement, productivity drivers and indicators and education reforms and innovation ecosystem.

The congress, held under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Deputy Prime Minister, is expected to attract many regional and international speakers and provide a platform to exchange expertise and conclude agreements among various vital sectors in the countries represented.

The World Productivity Congress first took place in the UK in 1969. Since then the congress has been hosted in several countries including the US, Canada, China, Australia, India, Chile, South Africa, Malaysia, Norway and Sweden.
