Bank customer Dr Azad Kareem Kassim, became an Al Hayrat ‘instant millionaire’ and was escorted with his family in a Hummer limousine to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Bahrain to pick up his prizes.
He was welcomed by Reyadh Sater, BBK’ chief executive and senior colleagues. While celebrating in style at the hotel’s private Island, Dr Azad received a cheque for $1m plus one million air miles from Gulf Air.
Mr Sater said: “I am delighted to present the biggest single prize in Bahrain to another lucky winner. We have developed the Al Hayrat Savings Account many years ago and we kept increasing the grand prize to reach the level it is today and become a life changing one.”
The raffle draw took place on February 1, under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Father-of-four Dr Kassim, a dermatology consultant at the King Hamad University Hospital, said “I was overjoyed with the news! I had been thinking of transferring my savings of five years from Al Hayrat account as I had never won before, but I was advised to keep my deposit till after the Grand Prize draw, so it was a very pleasant surprise to hear that I have indeed won after many years of waiting!”
The bank is to stage another ‘one million dollars’ draw in May. Customers who make a deposit into the account before March 31 will be eligible.
