After announcing a ground-breaking partnership with London South Bank University’s School of Engineering last week, the Applied Science University has further revealed that a 15 per cent discount will be offered to all first year students applying to the two programmes.

As revealed last week in GulfWeekly, there are two British degrees on offer through the partnership; B.Eng. (Hons) in Architectural Design Engineering, and a B.Eng. (Hons) in Civil and Construction Engineering. Upon successfully completing the programme, students will be awarded a degree from LSBU.

Dean Prof Charles Egbu of The School of the Built Environment and Architecture at London South Bank University, told GulfWeekly: “This partnership has been long in gestation and we’re delighted to finally move forward and welcome students on-board. We are sure this will be the start of a fulfilling relationship between our universities.”

In order to be considered for entry to the programme, applicants are required to have a Bahraini or GCC Secondary School (Scientific) Certificate or equivalent, with a minimum of 60 per cent GPA and a 60 per cent in Mathematics and in English Language (competency equivalent to IELTS 4.5 or above).

ASU is also partnering with Cardiff Metropolitan University to share a school of management, business, and accounting and finance partnership.

ASU was established 11 years ago and has a cosmopolitan demographic, with staff of 22 nationalities and a student body consisting of 3,000; 85 per cent of which are Bahraini students and 15 per cent expats from around the world.

LSBU was established as the Borough Polytechnic Institute in 1892 and has since developed into a centre focusing on vocational education and professional opportunity.
