THE stars came out to play for luxury retail group Al Hawaj’s 25th annual ghabga extravaganza with raffle prizes galore and entertainment in store for the hundreds of guests who gathered under the Ramadan tent in Barbar.
The festive evening included an appearance by well-loved comedian and actor Dawood Hussain who travelled from Kuwait to step out on to the stage with Bahrain TV celebrity Anwar Ahmed.
Amongst the VIPs were Kuwait ambassador Shaikh Azzam bin Mubarak Al Sabah, British ambassador Simon Martin and his lucky wife Sophie, who walked away with one of the raffle prizes, and Governor of the Northern Governorate, Al-Sayyed Ali Al-Sheikh Abdul-Hussein Al Asfoor.
