A friend of the Whisperer reckons she has come up with a solution to the pesky summer fly problem by placing a plastic bag full of water partly opened and hung over the door of her villa. Apparently the insects drop in for a drink or a bathe and drown. “It’s reduced the number of flies in the house from hundreds to maybe two or three,” she exclaimed.

Others suggest placing syrup or honey in the water for added attraction and another bought a pouch containing ‘something smelly’ for water to be added to from Manazel.

The Whisperer would be happy to hear from readers who have other successful methods to tackle the fly invasion.
