The popular Bahrain International Garden Show (BIGS) continues to grow bigger and better and next year’s event will also promote food safety.
BIGS 2018, organised by the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), will be staged at the Bahrain International Convention and Exhibition Centre on February 22-25.
Its motto will be ‘Food Safety and Human Health’ and it will spread awareness about good agricultural practices and what steps consumers can take to make their food safer to eat, said Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of NIAD, at a press conference on Monday.
The last show attracted more than 45,000 visitors and the next one will have a Marketplace in Hall 1 and Hall 2 will be dedicated to agricultural awareness. The Bahrain Garden Club will stage its annual flower and vegetable competitions with entry details to follow.
