Split hand drill

HERE’S a quick and easy drill to help golfers create a good position in the back swing. It is called the split hand drill for good reason.

Firstly, place your left hand at the top of the grip and your right hand just below the grip.

Go ahead and make a backswing and this will allow the right elbow to stay connected to the upper body.

I see many amateur golfers across the line at the top of the backswing due to what’s called a ‘flying right elbow’.

The split hand drill will influence an out-to-in swing path on the way down and will also help the golfer to use their hands properly through the golf swing.
