Hot Laser, Bahrain’s favourite glam-rockers, have released a new single inspired by the Irish folk lore legend of Tir na n’Og - the beautiful Niamh of angelic appearance, who travelled on her white horse and fell in love with a warrior poet called Oisin.

After many years of marriage and missing his homeland, Oisin borrowed Niamh’s white horse to return home to visit relatives. Tragically, he did not survive the journey and when the horse returned without its rider, Niamh knew she would never see her beloved husband again and wept.

The song lyrics for Crazy Angel were written by bass guitarist Joe Dalton, who is from the city of Limerick in Ireland, with song structure by guitarist Daryl Bustos. The charismatic Robert Jennings features on vocals and the band also welcomes new recruit, drummer Moe Albishawy.

“The song was recorded locally in Bahrain at Studio 77, and produced by Hani Taqi,” said Robert. “Ehab Faraj and Prasad Jayaruwan assisted on guitar and drums and our album, which has yet to be named, is on schedule for completion in 2018.

“We hope that other young musicians in Bahrain will continue to explore original rock music too.”

The act’s first single attracted 1,000 hits on YouTube within a few days of being released and the song is receiving regular radio airtime. Narcissism explored the insatiable craving for admiration amongst today’s youngsters, described as a ‘serious disease turning into an epidemic’.

Hot Laser then made a timely start to last year with the release of Tick Tock to the delight of their army of devoted fans. And rock ballad Valentine followed to much acclaim and radio play.
The band is set to be back on stage at Tribfest at the Bahrain Rugby Football Club on October 20 and in September at the Polo Lounge.

• Fans can listen to Crazy Angel for free on Soundcloud, Spotify and YouTube. The song can be downloaded via iTunes, Amazon and CDBaby for $0.99 available on Friday. Additional information is provided on Hot Laser’s Facebook page.
