A thrilling afternoon of action saw the GulfWeekly and GDN team power their way to the final of the Lost Paradise of Dilmun Waterpark InterCompany Water Volleyball Championship.
The squad of nine, featuring GulfWeekly reporter and reviewer Kristian Harrison and marketing manager and fashion writer Jalal Muradi, overcame LPOD’s lifeguard squad in the semi-finals after a tense back-and-forth encounter.
In the other semi-final, Just Party dominated their opponents Al Watan to set up the grand final on November 3.
After a slow start, our glory boys rallied to overcome their opponents, who took their eye off the ball with some overly-cocky celebrating before capitulating when the tables turned. In the end, we won in three sets: 14-25, 25-12, 15-13.
The team are confident heading into the final, but will need to work on their teamwork and co-ordination, with pride and bragging rights at stake.
