New township takes shape as construction continues

Members of the media were given a tour of one of the kingdom’s major development projects to witness firsthand the construction work that continues to forge ahead, a look inside some of the modern homes already completed and a glimpse of plans, artist’s impressions and models of future construction.
Aimed at creating a long-term and sustainable township, Diyar Al Muharraq is located on the northern shores of Muharraq and comprises of seven islands of reclaimed land, featuring ‘a cohesive mix’ of residential and commercial properties.
Once completed, it will encompass more than 40km of waterfront with sandy beaches, alongside community facilities such as schools, medical centres, recreation facilities, shopping malls, park lands, hotels and marinas.
Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, Dr Maher Al Shaer, along with officials from the company’s executive management, its sales team and corporate communication department hosted the tour and GulfWeekly’s photographer Honey Shama took a pictorial essay of the work in progress.
Under his lens came some of Diyar Al Muharraq’s most noteworthy projects, beginning at the Diyar Al Muharraq sales office and continuing onto Diyar Homes, the Deerat Al Oyoun Show Villas and Dragon City.
Dr Maher said: “Since its inception, Diyar Al Muharraq has witnessed incredible demand for and interest in all its projects and offerings, resulting in a deluge of investors and ever-rising foot-traffic, from both the kingdom and all throughout the region.
“At this juncture, we gratefully look back at our humble beginnings, celebrate our illustrious accomplishments thus far and look forward to a bright and prosperous future.”
