How would you like to be at the centre of the action at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia … for free?

Every football fan around the world - and especially in the football-focused Middle East - would love to experience the game live, cheering on their favourite players and teams.

Just imagine feeling the excitement of the goal-line action, the suspense of a crucial free-kick and tension as the clock ticks down, alongside tens of thousands of cheering fans in the stadium.

If you are not lucky enough to be able to afford to book a travel package, a trip to the mall may be the solution for some lucky shoppers.

Majid Al Futtaim, owners of City Centre Bahrain, is partnering with Visa, offering 14 lucky fans the chance to win tickets to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Nada Abou Saab, marketing director, Shopping Malls (East region), Majid Al Futtaim Properties, said: “With four teams from the region - Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Morocco - having qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Finals, our winning customers are set to enjoy great moments just by shopping with Majid Al Futtaim and Visa.”

The FIFA package includes flights and accommodation for seven winners, plus a guest each, to stay in Russia for four nights, with tickets to attend either the much-anticipated opening match between Saudi Arabia and hosts Russia, group stage matches, quarter-final games, or the semi-final.

The coveted grand prizes also include stadium tours and a chance to witness the pre-match warm-up just steps away from the players and coaches.

Next summer will be the 21st FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football tournament contested by the men’s national teams of the member associations of FIFA.

More than one billion fans tuned in to watch the final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, with the competition reaching a global in-home television audience of 3.2 billion people.

An estimated 280 million people around the world watched matches online or on a mobile device, as a sign that more and more fans are embracing new technology for sports content.

Russia is spending huge sums on building or renovating 12 stadiums for fans to enjoy the action in Kazan, Moscow, Sochi and St Petersburg.

Visitors who shop in participating retailers using Visa will receive entry into the draw which runs until Monday. The seven prizes will be shared between the malls in Bahrain, the UAE, Oman, Egypt and Beirut.
