A leading retail giant in the region and Asia, known for its value-for-money products, has added another string to its bow in a bid to further reach shoppers in the kingdom.

The Bahraini homegrown Ramez Group launched its sixth hypermarket in Juffair with plans for two more superstores to be unveiled in Al-Hala area in Muharraq and in Janabiya in the near future.

The event, which was held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, deputy PM of Bahrain, was officially inaugurated by Ramez Al Awadi, chairman of Ramez Group, in the presence of ministers, ambassadors and dignitaries as well as members of the media.

“Our growth in Bahrain is powered by the vision of the leadership, the business-friendly economic environment and the ability of our Bahraini employees to absorb and fit into the Ramez service model which puts customers above all,” Ramez said. “Our strong Bahraini work force forms the nucleus of our operations in the Kingdom and is a key factor to our success, our vision encourages to train and deploy more young talented Bahrainis in all our branches and outlets, and we are keen to continue supporting Bahrain labour force by giving employment to more Bahrainis in our upcoming projects.”

The BD6 million hypermarket will provide shoppers with more than 285,000 products all found under one roof including food, clothes, cosmetics, stationary, furniture, toys, kitchen kits, home appliances and more.

The 10,000sqft outlet has also introduced a huge range of items from the US, the UK, Switzerland, Greece, Turkey, Pakistan, India, China, KSA, Philippines and Thailand. RAMEZ Group owns a factory at the industrial zone in Hidd area that covers its main supply of plastic, aluminum, and paper goods. There is also a display area for Bahraini products that showcases dairy products, spices, fruits and vegetables. There are also special corners serving fresh meat, chicken and seafood as well as bakery and organic food.

The group currently consists of 40 branches in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Thailand.
