THE fabulous females of FinTech have staged their first Ramadan Majlis and launched their own website which will be an addition to the Bahrain Economic Development Board’s (EDB) online activities.
More than 60 guests attended from various industries including community and ecosystem partners, VIPs within the financial landscape and university students as well.
The Women in FinTech Initiative Bahrain (WIFBH) event was held at the Capital Club in Bahrain Financial Harbour’s East Tower, in partnership with Infiniti Bahrain.
The event started with a welcome note and an introduction on the FinTech landscape from Dalal Buhejji, WIFBH chairwoman, and senior manager, business development - financial services at the Bahrain EDB, and ended with a rallying call for others to join the group.
“Our first event was quite successful, and we were very pleased to see new faces that wanted to know more about the initiative,” she said. “Our committee members were also present which gave the chance for us to explain our vision and next steps for those that wanted to know more and get involved.
“We also unveiled our webpage which will share all our upcoming events, and workshops. In addition, there’s a call to action for new members to join us so we can collaborate, and do much more.
“We’re excited about this journey and what it will do for the growth of the FinTech sector in Bahrain and beyond.”
WIFBH was formed last year by a group of women working in different roles in the financial sector to serve and support those involved in the FinTech sector and to promote growth within the industry. Its goals include promoting women in business, networking, increasing awareness of industry events, opening the door to career opportunities for women in finance and technology.
