India is celebrating its 73rd Independence Day tomorrow with a variety of events organised for the day.
India and its diaspora worldwide commemorate the creation of its independent dominion with parades, flag hoisting ceremonies and cultural events.
The Kingdom of Bahrain and the Indian republic share deep cultural, historical and economic ties, owing to their proximity and the large Indian expat community on the island.
In official comments, the Indian ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha said: “On this occasion, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to members of the Indian community in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“Today India is entering a new era of economic transformation and we are moving forward with the goal of making India a USD five trillion economy in the next five years. With these developments, India-Bahrain relations are also experiencing renewed energy and momentum under the dynamic leadership of the two countries. Bilateral ties based on the civilisational connect have entered a new phase and new vistas of cooperation have opened up. Cooperative progress is being made in the emerging areas of space technology, Fintech and Hitech.”
To commemorate this relationship, both the Indian Club and the Indian Embassy have flag hoisting ceremonies tomorrow planned early in the day at 6:30am and 6:45am respectively at their premises to celebrate the event. Both events are open to all and the Indian Club event will be followed by breakfast.
Later in the day at 7:30pm, the Indian Club is also hosting a cultural event where the ambassador will be in attendance. This event will also include the grand finale of the kids’ summer camp, with children participating in several patriotic songs to commemorate the evening. The event is open to the public.
