Dodge’s latest take on its iconic Challenger has roared into the Middle East market with a supercharged HEMI Demon V8 engine and a 797-hp engine.
The Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is equal parts futuristic and traditional, paying homage to its muscle car roots with the biggest, baddest and most powerful engine; blitzing into the future with the TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission.
Like its Demon brethren, it has 25 major component upgrades, including largest factory supercharger of any production car at 2.7 litres, strengthened connecting rods and pistons, high-speed valve train, two dual-stage fuel pumps and improved lubrication system.
It is the only factory production car with an SRT Power Chiller, the After-Run Chiller, a new dual-snorkel hood and a torque reserve which delivers up to 3.9 psi of boost at launch and up to 55 percent more engine torque to deliver a total torque of 958 Nm.
The beast, which goes from 0-100km/hr in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 327km/h, is so powerful that it only comes in automatic transmission, which is necessary considering the horsepower and torque output.
In terms of scheme, the newly designed fully functional dual-snorkel hood provides maximum air intake to the supercharged power plant and pays homage to the distinctive design themes from some of the most famous mid-1960s and early-1970s Dodge muscle cars, like the 1970 Dart Swinger and 1971 Demon.
In addition to the new dual-snorkel hood, the exterior of Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye receives enhanced badging showing a sinister red jewel-like eye design on the Hellcat that jumps off the Midnight Grey Metallic finish fender badge.
The Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye has several unique interior features, including a 340-km/h red speedometer and a light Black Chrome instrument panel badge with the SRT Hellcat Redeye logo.
The Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is now available in Bahrain at the Behbehani showroom in Sitra.
