Lulu Hypermarket Bahrain launched a magnificent three-day Malaysian festival at its Ramli Mall location.

Inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Angus Salim Bin Yusof, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Bahrain, the festival featured cultural performances, folk dances and a cooking demo by Wani, the Malaysian Ambassador’s wife.

As part of the inauguration, the ambassador toured the Ramli Mall location and sampled Lulu’s extensive selection of Malaysian products, which were on sale for 30 per cent off, across its eight stores.

Juzer Rupawala, director for Bahrain of the LuLu Group, discussed the growing diplomatic, commercial and educational ties between Malaysia and Bahrain, as he sampled appetisers, entrees, desserts and fruit from Malaysia with the ambassador, all of which can be found in the hypermarket’s many aisles.

There was also an exhibition kiosk, educating parents and students about Malaysian educational options set up outside the hypermarket.

Malaysia, like Bahrain, is a pre-dominantly Muslim country that has played host to multiple different ethnicities through the years, including Eurasian, Chinese and Indian nationals, and this is reflected in its cuisine and cooking traditions.

He said: “The Malaysian community is small but very influential in Bahrain and we are proud to give them a platform to showcase Malaysian excellence.”
