One of Bahrain’s leading private schools will be capitalising on its investment in virtual learning as the educational sector shifts to remote learning in light of the guidelines introduced last week by the Health Ministry, writes Naman Arora

The American School of Bahrain (ASB) is also banking on the historical experience of its network of schools to ensure a state-of-the-art learning experience and is assuring parents of its continuing commitment to a holistic learning experience for their children.

“Community is a very important pillar at the school,” said Dave McMaster, founding director of ASB.

“We place the interests of the community, our students, our educators and our team above all else. We are keen to do our part to curb the spread while also maintaining international standards of learning to serve our students and their growth in these strange times that they are growing up in.”

The 17-acre (68,796sqm) ASB campus opened last September, introducing technology-enabled classrooms, cutting-edge pedagogy and a 21st century advanced learning approach.

While it was able to run mostly in-person lessons owing to the smaller class sizes and large campus, the Health Ministry’s guidelines, introduced last Wednesday, require all private and public schools to revert to a remote learning model, in light of the rising Covid-19 cases and the detection of a more infectious variant of the virus.

“We are happy to answer any queries or concerns from parents and ensure that we work with them to provide an uninterrupted educational journey for their children as they transition to virtual learning with experienced and passionate educators,” Dave added.
