A UNIQUE multi-million dinar handmade pair of pink and white diamond earrings are on display at the Bahrain Jewellery Centre (BJC) pavilion which opened yesterday at the much-anticipated 2021 Jewellery Arabia.

Dazzling diamonds, rare gemstones, precious pearls and meticulously-crafted watches are enticing jewellery enthusiasts and watch collectors to the setting.

“There are many pieces that stand out from the diverse range of brands under the BJC umbrella and this year in our pavilion you will find German Jeweller Schreiner’s handmade unique pair of pink and white diamond earrings collection ‘Haute Joaillerie’,” said Mohammed Shirazi, BJC director.

“It was manufactured in Pink Gold 750 and Platinum with natural intense pink diamonds with GIA certification and it costs approximately BD4.5 million.”

BJC was founded by the late Abdulrazaq Shirazi, Abdulmajeed Shirazi and Dr Abduqassim Shirazi.

“We launched our first standalone store in the heart of the old Manama Souq in 1978 and since then we have been drastically expanding,” added Mohammed. “There have been many memorable historical moments to date but to look back on our little store that has grown to up to 15 stores and boutiques with more than 75 world-renowned brands is truly an accomplishment for our brand and family legacy.

“The most memorable piece we have ever brought into the Bahraini market was during Jewellery Arabia 2019 which was a 22-carat rare pink diamond ring by Schreiner which was sold for $90 million.”

Mohammed highlighted that the watches and jewellery scene is endlessly evolving with changing designs, styles and tastes which has diversified craftsmanship.

He added that the development of technology for design and creation has ‘surpassed the unimaginable’.

“With all these developments, the one constant that we at BJC focus on is that each unique piece of jewellery or watch is of the highest state of craftsmanship and luxury,” he added. “This is our commitment.”

BJC has been a participant since the inception of Jewellery Arabia in 1992 as they maintained the largest exhibiting floor space in the annual mega-fair.

He revealed that preparations for this year’s event have gone smoothly despite necessary adjustments made for prioritising safety and precautionary measures put in place.

“This year many Covid-19 friendly measures had to be taken from setting up the pavilion to the display of the pieces,” he added. “Our staff have been trained in hygiene regulations and are required to sanitise the booths after every client.”

BJC will also introduce new brands this year such as Yoko London – a leading luxury pearl jeweller – as well as watch brand Bell & Ross.

“Each brand under the BJC umbrella has its unique presence, beauty and is made with skilled craftsmanship,” added Mohammed.

“Some exceptional pieces that will be displayed at the fair include exquisite watch collections from Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Omega, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Chopard and Charles Oudin.

“In terms of jewellery, Schreiner, Maria Gaspari, RCM and Boghossian are some of the brands that always bring unique pieces to Jewellery Arabia.”

The show is set to be spectacular. More than 500 jewellery brands and watchmakers from across 31 countries are gathered at the prestigious Jewellery Arabia 2021 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sanabis.

Entrance is free for all members of the public aged 16 and above.

Doors are open from 4pm until 10pm on November 18 and 19 and from noon to 10pm on November 20.
