Bahraini Chef Naseem Rasrummani has proven that she can stand the heat in the kitchen in a televised Middle Eastern reality cooking competition … and although she secured the second spot in the finale, food lovers across the kingdom say she is number one in their hearts.

The freelance food connoisseur, who went up against the crème de la crème of the Arab culinary world in MBC’s Top Chef Middle East in Saudi Arabia, highlighted her rich heritage in food form and hopes her artistic, minimalistic dishes brought joy and pride to her fans in Bahrain.

“Top Chef Middle East was an amazing experience,” said the 30-year-old former Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention & Spa operation chef. “It was an honour to be invited by them to participate and I feel very proud and humbled to be the first Bahraini to place second.

“Being a part of this show has motivated me so much and showed me what I am capable of and that I can do so much more. With that, I advise others to follow their dreams, and even if they fail, to never give up on what drives them.

“I would also like to thank everyone that took to social media to congratulate me on how far I had come and for all the sweet words of encouragement and support. This victory is for all of us.”
