AS Movember comes to an end, ‘Bro with a Mo’ Mehdi Honar praises  Bahrain Rugby Football Club’s (BRFC) first team for always representing the cause, writes Mai Al-Khatib Camille.

The Club’s former chairman, who is known across the kingdom for his ‘stache’ and health awareness efforts, recently reconnected with some of the first team rugby players and learned that they were growing ‘Mos’ for the month in support of men’s health awareness.

The first team hasn’t played since February 2020 and are delighted to be back on the field with the staches in tow.

“The boys are aware that prostate, testicular cancer and poor mental health are issues that are not being talked about, and that is why they took action and grew their moustaches for the entire month of November,” said Honar, who proudly posed with the squad and their staches.

Player Deina Morete said, ‘besides being a great excuse to change up the look for a month, it really is a great initiative’. “For 30 days, we make a conscious effort to make a meaningful change in the physical and mental health of men,” added Morete.

“By growing the Mo, we’ve got a daily reminder to continue to grow our courage and our skills when addressing our physical and mental health.”

The Club and its teams have always supported different causes. Even the cricket section had a tournament called Bowl for a Mo.
The six-a-side cricket tournament was organised by BRFC’s Red Crickets on November 19.
