Another wick has been lit...and in the works

Keanu Reeves John Wick had us glued to our seats from the moment he went after a group of cold-hearted jerks who killed his precious dog…and with Chapter 4 coming up…Wick fans (Wickis) can’t wait to see what the Baba Yaga (otherwise known as the boogeyman or angel of death) does next.

What the Wickis may not know is that Lionsgate has plans for the action, thriller media franchise created by Derek Kolstad.

Originally, Lionsgate planned for John Wick: Chapter 5 to be filmed back to back with the fourth film. However, that all changed with the pandemic turning the focus on completing the fourth instalment before getting into the fifth. 

Multiple spinoffs in development will also expand Wick’s world even more so. Ana de Armas will star in a movie spinoff dubbed Ballerina which is being shot in Prague. Keanu is expected to appear in the film as John Wick of course, while other returning franchise stars include Ian McShane, Anjelica Huston and Lance Reddick.

Meanwhile, a prequel series is in the works at Peacock centred around Colin Woodell— a younger version of Winston, Ian McShane’s character, with Mel Gibson also starring in a key role.

Special appearances may be possible with flash-forward scenes in The Continental, but it’s unknown at this time.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to be released on March 24, 2023.
