Bahrain-born Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez is set to star in an upcoming Hindi period comedy drama film, releasing this week.

The film, Cirkus, is based on William Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors and stars Ranveer Singh in a dual role, alongside Jacqueline, Pooja Hegde and Varun Sharma.

After finding two sets of identical twins on the doorstep of his orphanage, Dr Roy Jamnadas (Uday Tikekar) gives them up for adoption to two different families in two different cities.

Years later, a comedy of errors ensues when one set of twins decides to visit the city where the other set of twins runs a circus.

Ajay Devgn and Deepika Padukone will be making cameo appearances, reprising their roles from Golmaal and Chennai Express, respectively.

Shot in the Indian cities of Mumbai and Ooty, the film has been directed and produced by Rohit Shetty and is scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on December 23.
