The 17th edition of Spring of Culture continues this week with a new exhibition exploring Bahrain’s history, and a range of musical acts and talks.
The festival, which has more than 50 activities including performances, workshops, exhibitions, tours and film festivals lined up, kicked off on January 19, and will continue until the end of March.
l Features of Bahrain Civilisation exhibition
This expo explores the various eras, historical monuments and wonderful archaeological sites in Bahrain to tell a story of the kingdom through the centuries.
Opening on February 1 and running until March 2 from 10am to 10pm, this showcase displays a number of historic documents, texts and short video clips to tell visitors a story of the kingdom since the ancient Dilmun period through the Islamic era and up to the modern age.

l Women’s Leadership
South Korea’s first female Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-Wha will be delivering a talk at 8pm on Monday, February 6, in which she will share some nuggets from her eventful and impactful life.
Kang was the first Korean woman to represent South Korea at the United Nations and also spearheaded the delegation for the inter-Korean summit visiting Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea.

l Nabeela Al Khayer exhibition
In this solo exhibition opening on Tuesday, February 7 at 7pm, Bahraini artist Nabeela Al Khayer translates what her eyes see into distinctive visual works that reflect a vibrant, abundant feeling, through which she presents her artistic palette.
Each of her works reflects a part of her soul, dipped in colour and painted on a canvas full of spirit and life. The exhibition runs until the end of the month and is open from Saturday to Thursday from 9am to 1.30pm, and 4pm to 8pm.

l Mohammed Bin Faris Band
Every Thursday, this popular band will be serenading audiences at their Music Hall, starting at 8pm.
The musical sounds of the Mohammed Bin Faris Band will take listeners on a lyrical voyage telling the tales of a pearl diver’s life, from festive melodies to working songs and farewell ballads.

l The Living Sea exhibition
The exhibition, running until March 9, presents the view of two friends – photographer and author Prince Hussain Aga Khan and award-winning underwater documentary director Simone Piccoli – on the extraordinary diversity of the underwater worlds of three countries Tonga, Mexico and Egypt.
It is open daily from 8am to 8pm, except for Tuesdays.

l Mutation exhibition
Artist Mohammed Almahdi explores the hybridisation of species seen in nature, delving into the idea of strange mixing and the unknown.
His art reflects the intricate complexities of nature, capturing audience’s attention and sparking thought and conversation. It is open from 9am to 1.30pm and 4pm to 8pm from Saturday to Thursday.
