It’s not difficult to see why a Christopher Nolan-directed film about the father of the nuclear bomb has been blowing up the box office.
Putting aside Cillian Murphy’s phenomenal acting and Christopher’s trademark mind-bending scope, what always sets a ‘Nolan movie’ apart is its booming score.
For those who have already enjoyed the films and for those who might want to get a taste of the volatile vibes of the movie, a newly released Oppenheimer score takes you between the music sheets of the new film.
For the epic soundtrack, Christopher partnered up with Ludwig Göransson, having worked with him previously on Tenet. If the Swedish composer’s name looks familiar, it might be because he also frequently collaborates with Childish Gambino and score the Community television series.
However, scoring Oppenheimer was a very different experience for the renowned musician.
“I grew up in Sweden, where we have a very different relationship with nuclear weapons than we do in the US,” he told reporters.
“Although the entire world knows the devastation the Manhattan Project’s success led to, I’m not sure that most people, or at least people of my generation, are aware of how much this story has shaped each of our lives the way they will after seeing Oppenheimer. Finding my way through that was pretty tough.”
“I must admit that when I initially read the script and grasped the vast terrain that Oppenheimer would engulf, I felt overwhelmed.
“However, when I saw the first visuals, something started to click, revealing a path that led me and Chris to some interesting discussions and destinations.”
The 24-track album clocks in at 94 minutes and is now available on all major music platforms.
