Bahraini author Bader Alsadeqi is catapulting readers to magical lands and taking them on mythical adventures, once again, with the release of his latest high fantasy novel in the popular Daedalusian Legends series.

The 70-page novella Champion Trinity, released on December 25, 2023, is the fifth book in the series and tells a story of loss and retribution.

It follows a barbarian, a dwarf, and a warrior princess as they face challenges, dangers and enemies in their mission to overthrow an evil warlord and avenge their loved ones.

The book comes on the heels of another 72-page novella, Twisted Reunion, the fourth in the series that was released in September. It’s a tale of four identical sisters, separated by a tragedy and reunited by fate.

Daedalusian Legends is a collection of novels and short stories set within the high fantasy world of Daedalus. High or epic fantasy is a subgenre of fantasy set in an alternate world with grand scale characters, themes and plots.

“Ever since I was a young boy, I’ve been a huge fan of fantasy – heroes rescuing damsels – and science fiction, which inspired me to write stories of my own,” the 32-year-old IT-systems analyst, who has a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Security from NYIT, told GulfWeekly.

“I have a wild imagination and dream of sharing it with those who have the same passion (for the fantasy genre) and creativity.”

According to Bader, every book he writes is ‘an opportunity for world building, the process of developing an imaginary setting but with coherent aspects.”

In Champion Trinity, deep within the western frontiers of North Bornvarie, in lands where ancient gods, giants and dragons were said to have once ruled before the Breton human race emerged as the natives alongside dwarves and others, there is an ambiguous evil warlord whose power and armies stride to conquer the land and start an era of darkness, pillaging and destroying kingdoms without mercy.

In the bargain, a barbarian from the darkly wooded north loses his mother, a dwarf craftsman from a mountain city loses his home, and a princess loses both her parents and her kingdom.

The characters stem from origins they deem peaceful, before tragedy forces them to become blade-swinging heroes.

In their quest, they also discover magic and allies that will liberate the lands.

“I build my characters depending on the story or the world it’s set in. Sometimes I base them on what I know to be ideal characters if they are heroic, and to be less than ideal if villainous. Their histories, nature, likes, and dislikes, often come along based on the tone and plot of the story.”

Bader doesn’t have a fixed time for his writings, although he does most of his work in the evenings and nights.

“Usually, I have a clear picture of the general story and ideas in my head before I start,” he said.

“I am a huge fan of pop-cult (pop culture) media, mainly from the 80s, 90s and 2000s, which was a golden age for fantasy and science fiction across media, all of which are sources of inspiration,” he added.

Other books in the Daedalusian Legends collection are Chain of Secret Memories, The Chosen Rainheart and Dark Nature.

“I plan on adding more stories to the same fantasy world, and those that are separate, while also creating my own epic space-opera saga, as well as science fiction action and super heroic stories,” Bader said.

The author also has a narrative fantasy poem published in the 55th issue of Heroic Fantasy Quarterly.

The Daedalusian Legends series is available for purchase on Amazon.
