American actress and singer Bailee Madison, who gained acclaim for her role as May Aarons in the fantasy drama film Bridge to Terabithia, has just entered her music era with the release of her new single Kinda Fun last Friday.

The 24-year-old actress took a trip down memory lane and sang about her unique experience of being a child star.

“The song is about holding on to your roots and your inner child,” she told People during an interview.

“It was a really weird thing for me because it was the first time I was really told that I couldn’t do the one thing (music) that I’ve known since I was a little girl.”

She also shared on the short-form video hosting services, Tik Tok, that the song is filled with reflection and celebration about that exciting life (as a child artist) she has lived and where she is today.

Bailee became inspired to write this song after a deep-clean of her garage. While rummaging through the bins, she came across old call sheets and set photos from her early days as a child actress.

Bailee was the female lead in a Christian musical drama, A Week Away, released in 2021 and the following year, she played Imogen Adams in the HBO Max horror-thriller series Pretty Little Liars: Original Sun, which was a spin off to the popular series Pretty Little Liars.
