POP music darling Sabrina Carpenter’s sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet drops tomorrow (August 23).

Ironically, the 12-track project is set to have a total runtime of around 36 minutes, with the longest song titled Don’t Smile lasting for  three minutes and 26 seconds.

A limited edition of the LP (Long Play) will include a bonus track titled Needless to Say, which would be the shortest - one minute and 37 seconds.

Released in April, Short n’ Sweet’s lead single Espresso was received with huge success and critical acclaim. The summer anthem reached one billion streams on Spotify earlier this month, becoming the artist’s first song to hit the milestone.

The second single Please Please Please released in June. The song, in which the artist lyrically instructs her boyfriend to not blemish her reputation, was met with similar success, topping the charts in several countries including Australia, Ireland and New Zealand. The track’s music video serves as a sequel to the Espresso visual.

“I ended the last video getting arrested, so naturally I thought it would be satisfying to start the Please Please Please video in jail,” Sabrina said in an interview, addressing how the video’s concept plays a part in showcasing the lyrical context of the song.

“I liked the idea of falling in love with a convict and being shocked and embarrassed every time he commits crimes.”

Born in May 1999, Sabrina Annlynn Carpenter rose to prominence on Disney Channel, starring in Girl Meets World (2014-2017). While doing the show, the creative talent signed a five-album deal with the then Disney-owned Hollywood Records.

While she rose to moderate success as a teen pop artist, her big boom was after her 2022 release Emails I Can’t Send, under Island Records.

She is the niece of actress Nancy Cartwright, who is known for voicing Bart from The Simpsons.
