Head down to Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre for a range of fun workshops.
The Young Artisan – Embroidery on Paper workshop will teach children, aged eight to 12, umpteen ways to get creative with paper.
It’s held on Monday, from 4pm to 6pm, in Arabic and English.
Young adults aged 18 and above can join another workshop that teaches participants how to make pottery using the wheel. They will learn about the types of pottery and the tools used in shaping, discover methods of pottery wedging and kneading and ways to sculpt items. The creative sessions will be held on Saturday, from 10am to 12.30pm.
Meanwhile, citizens can learn some new skills at a Traditional Boat Making Workshop, being held on Saturday, from 10am to 12.30pm. It aims to identify the types of wood used for manufacturing boats while also teaching ways to chop and carve on pieces of wood. It’s open to those aged 14 and above.
