BAHRAINI creative talent Mahmood Al Hayki has dropped his new single Shine about ‘embracing your light, conquering fears, and standing strong, no matter what’.
The five-minute track features the social activist, who is committed to supporting differently abled people, inspired by his own life’s challenges.
The Muharraq resident was diagnosed with a bone disability, resulting from a fall his mother had when she was pregnant with him.
In the film, the 33-year-old encourages his audience to pursue their dreams no matter what because they deserve to have the best life. “Like the stars, just shine, just shine,” he sings.
The melody was composed, produced and mixed and mastered by Ghanian artist Signechor Vybez,
who also wrote the lyrics, all based on Mahmood’s overarching idea.
The two remotely collaborated last year after connecting on Facebook, and the creative project took about a month to complete.
“I met him online while collaborating on a project called Hymn for Humanity with Italian artist Veronica Vitale and since then, we’ve continued to work together and share a strong artistic partnership,” Mahmood told GulfWeekly.
“The video was shot this year over a day of filming at Hilton Garden Inn Bahrain Bay and released at the end of last month,” he added.
The song follows a talent show for people of determination that Mahmood had staged at the property where he works as a front office agent.
Fourteen creative talents showcased diverse skills including in poetry, acting and singing at the event, which was attended by 80 people.
Shine has more than 500 views on YouTube where it’s available for the public to enjoy.
