WITH the usual assortment of doctors, lawyers, ad executives, jingle writers and police showing up on your TV set, you would hardly believe that more than 14 million Americans are out of work, writes Tim Kenneally. Finally, that tide seems to be shifting. On Fox’s Raising Hope, the unabashedly downtrodden Chance family struggles with finances while rearing an infant borne out of a one-night stand.
Firstly, let me congratulate you on your weekly newspaper that brings us information about all walks of life on this beautiful island. You are doing a wonderful job. Keep it up. In your last issue, the front page article highlighted a new invention called Wudu which was very interesting. Since I am working in the same field I have to point out the main challenge in introducing it will be space. As Mr Fakhro stated, in places like mosques the cleaning area is so congested it may be difficult to instal many of them. Nevertheless, I hope to see this new invention fixed in prayer halls in the near future.

If anyone tells you that a 50-year-old shouldn’t be driving a Challenger, then firstly I’m not quite 50, and secondly, quite frankly, they have no idea what they are talking about ... everyone should be driving one. I’m not one to use superlatives that often, but the Dodge Challenger SRT8 is brilliant and undeniably one of the most exhilarating and exciting drives I have had in a very long time. Before I go into detail, let me just give you a few figures to whet your taste buds. It has a V8 6.4-litre engine, the biggest engine on the island, which sounds unbelievably gorgeous and delivers a thumping 470bph. It goes from 0-100kph in about 4.7 seconds. It’s top speed, well let’s just say that there are very few cars on the island whose speedometer registers 300kph – that’s 187 mph for us Brits, which means at full pelt you can cover the length of Bahrain in just under six minutes.
