Lulu’s recent Mango Passion Festival helped put the ‘King of Fruits’ in the spotlight once again.
The annual event was inaugurated at a grand opening ceremony at Lulu in Dana Mall by Meera Sisodia, the Indian Embassy’s Charge d’Affaires.
More than 61 varieties of the fruit from 14 countries have been on display throughout the festival which ended yesterday.
“The festival was a celebration of the health advantages and the great taste of mangoes – the fruit is known to help fight high cholesterol, improve digestion and increase good health overall,” said Lulu’s regional director Juzer Rupawala.
And, to whet the appetite of customers for the summer months ahead, chefs prepared an array of mango dishes ranging from popular desserts like kulfi, shrikand and cakes and tarts to pickles, chutneys, chaats, juices and milkshakes.
A selection of the most popular mangoes remain available on the shelves in all Lulu stores today.
