You can’t change anybody’s mind by intimidation. Simply make your case and hope they’ll take the hint. If they decide to take a different path, learn to live with it and move in. This may means breaking off your association or finding another job. Fortunately, you are very resilient. If you need to find work, you could find it at a university or cultural institution. Don’t get into a childish argument with a lover who is jealous of your friends.
