Kylie album out this year
EMI UK is readying a new Kylie Minogue album for later this year. In fact, the major expects the recording to be its big fourth-quarter release. And if all goes according to plan, Minogue will have the holiday single of 2007.

The as-yet-untitled album is Minogue’s first album of new material since being diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago.

Hudson looks at next film
Jennifer Hudson, who won a best supporting actress Oscar for her debut performance in Dreamgirls, is in talks to join the all-star cast of the drama Winged Creatures, being directed by Rowan Woods. Creatures already has attracted Forest Whitaker, and Jackie Earle Haley as well as Kate Beckinsale, Guy Pearce and Dakota Fanning.

Dalle forms new band
Distillers frontwoman Brody Dalle has announced the formation of a new band. Spinnerette. The new group comprises Dalle, the Distillers’ Tony Bevilacqua and Eagles Of Death Metal/Queens Of The Stone Age contributor Alain Johannes.
Recording for the crew’s forthcoming Reprise debut album will commence this summer, to be helmed by Johannes.
