Bahrain’s 15th National Heritage Festival got off to a kicking start last Wednesday when silver-haired footballing greats played a six-a-side match at Bahrain National Museum’s Heritage Village.

Retired Al Ahli and Muharraq Club players were led by veteran coach Ali Kemanga at the event which was opened by Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
This year’s festival is a nostalgic trip through Bahrain’s footballing history.
In addition to trophies, medals, documents and souvenirs; the festival also has a special photography section with pictures of His Majesty King Hamad playing football with Al Najma Al Khalifya Club.
