Bahrain Women of all nationalities are being invited to take part in search for the May Queen 2007 at the Indian club.
Prospective candidates must be aged between 15 and 28 and have good moral standing. The coronation night will be held on May 24 during the Indian Club May Queen Ball 2007. The last date for registration is May 10 and the fee is BD2 per contestant. The Indian club’s May Queen Ball is one of the most prestigious events in Bahrain. All contestants will go through a “grooming session” to be conducted by show choreographer Shamima Noorani. The contest will consist of three rounds of catwalk. An array of prizes will be presented to the May Queen 2007. There will also be prizes for the first and second runners up, as well as the winners of “Best Smile” “Best Hairdo” and “Best Catwalk”. Tables are going fast for the concert by the Celtic Tenors at the Upstairs Downstairs restaurant in Adliya. The trio is performing with world-class soloist/soprano Deirdre Shannon on May 11. The Celtic Tenors feature Mathew Gilesnan, James Nelson and Daryl Simpson and their musical director David Munroe from Glasgow, Scotland. The Tenors who are well-known for their classical, folk, Irish and pop music are currently on a tour in the US and Canada, but will be in the Middle East for major shows in Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Dubai Boyz II Men, the most commercially successful R&B group of all time, will appear live in concert on May 10, at the launch of LIFE The event management agency VIBE announced the launch of the LIFE Music Festival. This will be headlined by legendary R&B group, Boyz II Men, performing live in concert for the first time in the UAE. International DJs Pete Tong and Claude Challe will complete the line up for LIFE’s first event and will continue to entertain throughout the night with their original mixes. LIFE, planned to be the biggest indoor music festival series in the region, will begin at the MPV, Madinat Jumeirah from 9pm to 3am. “LIFE is quite simply going to be a massive hit, with six hours of non-stop class.
