Colours of India art exhibition at La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art, Manama, 7pm.

The exhibition will feature old textiles and objects of art from the Indian subcontinent. North Indian cuisine will be available from 8pm. Reservation recommended. 

‘Educating Rita’ play by Willy Russell being staged at Kuwait Little Theatre, in Kuwait. Theatre-goers can catch the classic comedy starring Nevil Hampton as Frank and introducing Louise Whiteside as Rita. Curtain up at 7.30pm and tickets are KD4 per person. Thursday (May 3)
Latino fans can look forward to a delightful evening at the Ricky Martin Tribute Show at the Dilmun Club, Saar. The evening promises to be a fun night even if it’s not a real thing! Andy Wood (aka Ricky Martin) has worked in and around music for 17 years. Andy’s tribute career started when he appeared on ‘Stars in their Eyes’ as Michael Bolton. Since then, he has travelled worldwide and his shows include a Ricky Martin and Tom Jones show.
Doors open at 7.30pm and show starts at 9.30pm. Tickets cost BD10 for members and BD15 for non-members inclusive of dinner and beverages.

Indian Rajasthani Sufi Music: In collaboration with the Theatre De La Ville Paris, treat yourself to a soulful concert with six master musicians and poets from Rajasthan (India) at the Moon Courtyard of la fontaine centre of contemporary art, 8pm. Tickets for concert and dinner is BD25 and tickets for concert only is BD15. For reservation, call the centre on 17 230123.  

Pakistani superstar Atif Aslam is set to perform in Doori 2007 concert at Al Ahli Club, Zinj, 7pm. Some of his hits include “Woh Lamhey” and “Dil Haarey”. Local DJ Brad will be warming up for Atif with his Bollywood tunes. A fashion show featuring models from New Zealand will also be staged. Tickets for the concert are BD7 (only students under 18), BD10 standing, BD15 (VIP seating) and BD25 (VVIP seating). An after-concert party will be held at the Rock Village at the Marine Tower Hotel (formerly known as the Baisan Tower Best Western). Tickets for after-party cost BD10. The event features chill out to funky electro house, beverages, snacks and a cool party that kicks off at 4pm building up all the way up to 11pm. Entrance is BD5 per person and free for ladies before 5pm, which includes a complimentary welcome beverage.  

Filipino band ‘Up Close Personal’ will perform at the Fiddlers, Diplomat SAS Hotel, 4pm-7pm.
