Al Belushi triumphs
MOHAMMED Al Belushi notched first place in the fifth round of the Bahrain Motorcross Championship which took place off Shaikh Isa Highway in Boquwa.
The former UAE champion was one of seven riders who were in the fray and competed over three heats of six laps each with each lap over 1km. But it was Al Belushi who eventually clinched victory, crossing the finish line first to take the 25 maximum points. The event was organised by Bahrain Motorcycle Club under the umbrella of Bahrain Motor Federation.
Rashid’s cup joy
RASHID Al Obaidly won the under-16 boys singles title of the Goys President's Cup Tennis Championship, after beating Ross Henson 6-1, 6-2 in the final at the Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) in Juffair.
It was the third tournament victory this year for the 16-year-old top seed Rashid.
Thamer claims title
ABDALI Thamer won the 12th Bahrain Triathlon, organised by Bahrain Road Runners under the umbrella of the Bahrain Athletics Association. The event held at the Bahrain Sailing Club in Zallaq, saw Thamer cross the finish line in one hour, 10 minutes 23 seconds while the women's title went to Alena Sinayova (1:24:04).
The event comprised a 750-metre swim in the sea, 20km cycling on tarmac roads and a 5km run.
