The Beit Al Quran is hosting the ‘Gardens of Illusion’ exhibition, by Bahraini artist and calligrapher, Mahmood Al Mulla, at its premises from June 10 to June 30.

Thursday (June 14)
Hed Kandi returns to BJ’s at the Al Bustan Hotel in Adliya, tonight with DJ Jim Breese after its major show, ‘BJ’s on the Beach over the F1 weekend. Jim was hand-picked for the Hed Kandi Residency in 2005 as a result of his trademark sets, a combination of edgy electronic tones and peak-time vocal tracks. He has helped mix Hed Kandi's 'Stereo Sushi' and 'Twisted Disco' digital download albums and has also co-compiled the renowned Nu Cool, Serve Chilled and Beach House collections. Techfui featuring Paul Davis (Circulation, UK), gearing up for a night of groovy and deep-tech house at Likwid, at the City Centre Hotel in Manama. Circulation is a London-based artist label that has been releasing quality house music and has been crossing genres and dance-floors across the globe. Blockbuster comedy from the Philippines, Ang Cute Ng Ina Mo (Your Mother is Cute) will be screened at the Seef Cineplex in Seef Mall. The story is about a mother and daughter, played by actors Ai Ai de las Alas and Anne Curtis respectively, who are reunited after 20 long years. The second annual youth ice hockey tournament will be held at the Funland Centre in Manama from 8am to 4pm. Prizes will be given for proficiency in speed skating, shooting and goaltending skills. There will be plenty of activities to keep the players occupied during their ‘off ice time’ at Funland. The media room adjacent to the ice will be transformed into a ‘Hockey Canada Cinema’ and there will be screenings of classic ice hockey series, Olympic Gold medal finals and Hockey Day in Canada broadcasts throughout the day.
