Gulf Weekly Audi arrives in style

THE new Audi Centre opened for business this week after years of construction at its Sitra site.

The glass building that follows the renowned architectural design of the ‘Audi hangar concept’ was officially inaugurated by Bahrain’s Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro.
Hundreds of visitors came last night to see not only the impressive new premises but also the latest in Audi’s sports car range – the new Audi TT Coupé.
Pieter Kruger, brand manager of the Audi Centre Bahrain, said: “It was a wonderful opportunity for us to combine the opening of what is arguably the most modern showroom in the Middle East with the launch of a design legend like the new Audi TT.
“The theme for the event, ‘Pure Energy’, was appropriate as it aptly describes the vibe at Audi Centre Bahrain.”
With a muscular shoulder line, powerfully designed wheel arches, and a domed roof with a low-slung cabin, the design of the new Audi TT Coupé is more striking than ever. The rear conveys performance, power and stability, featuring a tailgate with a shield-shaped window, extendable rear spoiler, wide diffuser and twin tailpipes.
The new Audi TT Coupé’s engines stand out in performance, more thrust and lower consumption: the 2.0 TFSI turbocharged engine with 200bhp and 280Nm (1,800-5,000rpm); plus the 3.2 V6 engine with 250bhp and 320Nm (2,500-3,000rpm).
The ultra-modern engine technology is matched by lightning-fast shifting with a six-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission.
The aluminium body concept (Audi Space Frame) further optimises weight and distribution for increased dynamism, powerful acceleration and lower fuel consumption.
The 2+2 seater sports car features many technical highlights as a standard: xenon headlights, 17”/18” alloy wheels and Audi parking system for the rear.
The striking lines of the exterior continue in the driver-focused interior. Fine Nappa leather surfaces, electric sports seats, and a three-spoke leather multifunctional steering wheel all come as standard and complete the sporty package.
Among the optional highlights are the Bose surround sound system with noise compensation, and the Audi magnetic ride: an adaptive damping system that reacts in milliseconds adjusting itself to changing driving conditions and road conditions and can be set to sports mode for even greater dynamic driving pleasure.
A myriad of combinations in technology, colours and materials allow drivers to create their own personalised work of art.
