Talk about Romeo and Juliet (well-ish). It seems a Bahraini lady took a massive overdose after an argument with her husband.
On finding his wife “in a bad condition”, the husband then also took an overdose but had a change of heart when he started to feel ill and called for an ambulance. Thankfully, both survived.
Not wanting to sound uncaring, or anything, but it doesn’t really make much sense.
Although I can’t put myself in his shoes, I can try to understand the guilt the husband must have felt at the thought that his wife had tried to kill herself, but to actually try and kill himself over it means he must love her so much that he literally could not live without her. Why then not attempt to save her life and call an ambulance immediately? Surely it would be far better to both live rather than both die?
As callous as it might sound, he could always attempt to kill himself if saving her life failed, but to not even try sounds too odd to believe. A dramatic over-reaction perhaps?
An attempt at sympathy instead of guilt? Let’s face it, if you’re going to try and kill yourself, you have to assume before you start that you might feel a little iffy during the actual process. The idea should be to think twice before trying, not to change your mind when your “condition worsened”.
