Renowned dancer Bharatnatyam dancer Aarthi Shankar and her four-member troupe performed at the Cultural Hall near Bahrain National Museum, Manama.

The cultural show was organised by Indian Embassy in association with Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Present were Ambassador Balkrishna Shetty along with guests. Vocalist Chempakalakshmy Seshadri, mridangam exponent Bejjanki Krishna and violinist Lakshmi Narayana Sastri Kambhapati accompanied the dance maestro.

The Regez Sisters performed at the Bahrain Music Institute, Mahooz. They were in Bahrain as part of a world tour to promote their album For You.

The felicitation day of the Indian School’s junior wing was held at their Isa Town campus. More than 600 students from class one to three, aged six to eight,  were presented with certificates for scoring A grade in all subjects in the academic year 2006-2007. Present were chairman P V Radhakrishna Pillai, principal Dr A S Pillai, junior wing vice-principal Ravina Gandhi and executive board members. The evening also featured cultural programmes by students.
