Wednesday (June 27)
• Hip hot star and G-Unit member Lloyd Banks will make his Bahraini debut at a concert to be staged at the Gulf Hotel’s convention centre, Adliya.

The event will also feature DJ Dir T and the Ali G tribute act by UK-based rapper Ray Wade. Tickets are priced at BD15 and BD35 for VIP. • ‘Colours and Words’ – an Arabic calligraphy exhibition by Bahraini artist Abdul Jalil Ahmed Al Rashid at the Alliance Francaise de Bahrain from 9am to 9pm until June 30. For more information, contact on 17 683295. 

• Niqi Brown will transform herself to Tina Turner tonight at JJ’s Irish Restaurant & Pub in the Al Bustan Hotel in Adliya. She will perform Tina Turner classics, from the upbeat rock sounds of “Nutbush City Limits” and “Simply the Best” through to her ballads such as “Private Dancer” and “Let’s Stay Together” along with some other classics from prominent Motown artists of the period. Thursday (June 28)

Friday (June 29)
• South Indian artists will perform at the ‘Summer in Bahrain 2007’ event at Al Ahli Auditorium in Zinj from 6pm. • Z-Club Bar and Lounge at the Pars International Hotel in Juffair calls out for a glamorous decade of 70s disco and funk theme party – Z-Funk Afro & Shades, on June 29. Dress in your funkiest disguises from Bushy Afro wig, an old school tie to cool, funky shades and get ready. • Upstairs Downstairs in Adliya will host a charity dinner in aid of the Regional Institute for Active Learning. Dinner starts from 7pm onwards. The event will feature live performance by Frankie’s Friends featuring Frankie on the piano, Glyndon on percussion, Mark on drums, Philippe on saxophone and Christine on vocals. • The Australian Association of Bahrain is hosting a progressive dinner at the La Cave in Adliya. An evening will serve a three-course meal for BD15 per head with a different seat per course. • The International Hospital of Bahrain in Muharraq will conduct an orthopaedic workshop by Prof Axel Kentsch, from the University of Freiburg in Germany as part of its visiting professor’s programme until July 3.
