Loubsers victorious in Energade match
Riffa Golf Club’s captain Peter Loubser and his wife Maureen cruised to victory in the third match of the Energade Summer Series with a score of 31.75.

The pairing of Jim Porter and Clive Charlton came second with 34 and lady vice-captain Sara Thomson and her partner Rachel Cassidy came third with 35.25.
Rachel also received a prize for achieving the longest drive on the 3rd hole during the match while Zoyeb Mohamed came closest to the pin on the 7th.
The fully-subscribed match was held in the “foursomes” format where the two players in each team play alternate shots.
Radio Bahrain DJ Krazy Kevin and Daniel Thain, Gulf Cellar’s marketing and events manager and sponsor of the series, presented the prizes in the club’s Braids restaurant after the match.

Gray’s team wins
A team led by Brian Gray and consisting of Ian Pereira, Mark Holmans and Clive Charlton won first prize in Riffa Golf Club’s first Summer Team Alliance competition with a score of 102 points.
The team of Murtuz Zamanly, Patrik Daintry, Martin Fish and Max Palethorpe were the runners up with 99 points.
Junior golfer Diego Fenwick won a prize for coming nearest to the pin on the 13th hole and Mohamed Al Sayed came nearest on the 16th.
Over 90 players took part in the competition despite the warm weather.
Prize vouchers were presented to the winners by director of golf, Phil Jones.
