Book I’m loving this week

Girlfriends
I’ve swapped the remote control for Gordon Ramsay’s autobiography Humble Pie this week.

I love reading but very often don’t get the time, but being a fan of Hell’s Kitchen I decided to set some time aside for a man whose recipes have saved my proverbial bacon more than once.
Humble Pie tells the story behind the person we see on television and although it opens your eyes to a softer Ramsay who actually seems to have a heart and a conscience, he still maintains his hard-hitting and upfront manner that has made him almost as popular and hated as American Idol dream-crusher Simon Cowell.
From his short-lived career as a footballer and his uphill struggle to be noticed in the kitchens of France, this is a refreshing look at man who doesn’t apologise for what he does or how far he’s come.
Like him or hate him you can’t help but be impressed with his story of rags to riches and although he’s no literary prize-winning author, the story of the kitchen boss from hell will keep you fascinated from start to finish.
