Gulf Weekly Colours for Kids

The Colours for Kids Art Exhibition Opening – a fund-raiser for the Bahraini Association for Mental Retardation – was held last week at the Al Riwaq Art Gallery, Adliya.

Works  by the Al Hussain Society for Islamic Art was put on display as well as pieces created by children from the association. Paintings by Iraqi Ambassador Ghassan Mohsen as well as world-renowned artist Abbas Al Mosawi were also  on display. The event aimed to raise at least BD10,000 for the improvement of the centres and hopes to increase awareness of people suffering with autism. The exhibition follows the Colours for Kids Art Workshop, also partly sponsored by American Express, where more than 150 children and eight professional artists participated in Seef Mall, raising more than BD500.
