A new beginning

Gulf Weekly A new beginning

EXAMINATION results have finally been published putting an end to two months of excruciating agony playing the waiting game.

I sat the exams at my former school, Al Noor International, and along with my fellow classmates have been waiting anxiously – sharing similar feelings no doubt to the hundreds of other youngsters across the kingdom.
However, the moment arrived last week.
1…..2….3…. and YES! Fortunately, I had done reasonably well.
I received two As, four Bs and one D. What was very pleasing was that I received an A in both of my best subjects, business studies and English.
Now that the results are out and all the worrying is over, I can’t help but think about my friends and the fact that we are all on our way to bigger and better things.
Time really flies by! It seems only like yesterday that we all started school and now we are saying goodbye. Now is the time to put all we have learned over the past 10 years of education into action.
We are now mature enough to make our own decisions and choose the correct and suitable paths for our futures.
But the young must also take the appropriate time and measures to explore their choices. I myself have decided, after much agonising, not to pursue A-level courses but change to the IB diploma programme.
I would also like to bid farewell to friends who will be travelling abroad – to Wales and the Philippines – to continue their education and also present a firm handshake to a new adventure at my new school, Modern Knowledge. Cheers to the class of 2007!
