A floral display contest to celebrate Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, was held at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam in Manama last Friday.
The Manorama Pookkalamatsaram is an intricate and colourful arrangement of flowers laid on the floor, a tradition extremely popular in Kerala and followed as a ritual in every household during the 10-day celebrations. This contest was part of a cultural extravaganza planned by the samajam to celebrate Onam.
