Hi friends,
Once I got an opportunity to visit the security office of a huge building. This building is fully monitored by CCTV.

I could see as many as 20 screens being constantly scrutinised by four members of the security staff.
Just out of curiosity, I started watching some of the screens. Interestingly, the people who could be seen on the screens had absolutely no clue that they were being watched. It was simply hilarious the way people acted. One person, after taking his tea, pushed a couple of sugar sachets in his pocket. A decently dressed lady, standing in front of a mirror, was making funny faces to check her make-up. Another guy was using his saliva to clean his glasses with his neck-tie.
I can bet that these people would not even dream of acting in this manner if they knew that they were being watched. I am now convinced that we care more about our public image than our manners.
I think an important ethical issue has to be considered. Do you think that these spying cameras, installed for security and vigilance, are encroaching upon our personal privacy?
