Womanspeak is a female-to-male dictionary, aimed at enlightening the male population on what a woman means when she says…

‘It’s not you, it’s me’
This is commonly used at break-up time when she doesn’t want to be honest about the reason she’s kicking you to the curb. It’s her way of kicking you in the head with a slipper rather than steel toe-capped boots.
She’s feeling bad about breaking up with you and doesn’t want you to go away thinking it’s because there’s something wrong with you. By telling you all the reasons why she isn’t right for you she’s (not-so-subtly) detracting from the fact that she just isn’t attracted to you anymore, but at the end of the day if she says “it’s not you it’s me”, it’s a pretty safe bet that what she really means is “it’s not me it’s you”.
Deal with it, move on and try not to let your insecurities hit you on your way out the door.
