Ian Wright of Great Britain will be arriving in Bahrain on Friday to host a show jumping clinic/workshop and conduct private and group lessons at Twin Palms Riding Centre.

He will be conducting his show jumping clinic and demonstration on Friday at 5pm. The occasion is sponsored by GAC and the entrance fee will be BD2 per person and refreshments will be available.

Mr Wright will use three horses and riders in the paddock to demonstrate various approaches to working with different horses and how to achieve maximum potential from each animal.

The whole exhibition will be very practical; will include advice, suggestions and guidance as to methods of working with the horses.

The workshop will include maximum audience participation, as there will be an audience question and answer time regarding methods or ideas given out during the clinic.

Mr Wright brings with him a wealth of experience collected during his varied and long equestrian career.

He holds numerous equestrian diplomas and has trained with Bertie Hill, an Olympic gold medal winner in 3-Day Eventing.

Mr Wright's approach to training is holistic, simple and concentrates on the overall relationship between horse and rider.

"I don't believe in having a set idea of how a horse should perform. Horses are individuals, and given the opportunity they will show you where their individual talents lie, and how best to ride them, " he said.

Anki Holstrom of Twin Palms Riding Centre said: "Ian Wright will be conducting lessons, group and private. Anyone with an interest in horses, whether its competition level showjumping or simply for the enjoyment of hacking out and being able to jump small obstacles, the clinic will be full of advice.

"This is an exceptional opportunity for Bahrain riders to improve in all riding disciplines especially show jumping."

Ian Wright's lessons will be conducted from November 2 - 16 and group and private lessons will be available.
